Important Instructions for JEE Mains 2024 to Keep in Mind

The following JEE Mains rules and regulations regarding seat allocation, question paper verification, technical issues and JEE Main 2024 Hall Ticket must be kept in mind while appearing for the examination

1. Present your JEE Main Admit card - The applicant must immediately provide the downloaded or printed copy of their admit card along with the self-declaration form and valid photo ID proof. The on-duty test centre staff is permitted to validate the identification of applicants and may take action to confirm and verify the identity documents.

2. Seat assignment - Each candidate will be given a seat with a Roll Number. Applicants must locate and occupy the designated seats exclusively. If a candidate decides to move seats and does not take the seat assigned to him or her, their candidature may be withdrawn

3. Attendance Sheet and Thumbprint - Examinees are required to fill in their details on the attendance sheet, affix a photograph and sign on it as per the instructions given by the invigilator. Candidates must make sure that their thumb impression is clear and does not smudge.

4. Verify the question paper - The candidate should verify that the question paper shown on the computer checks the subjects they selected, as specified on their JEE Main admit card 2024. If the question paper's topic differs from the subject the candidate selected, they should inform the relevant invigilator.

5. In case of technological issues - Throughout the exam, applicants can speak with the centre superintendent/invigilator in the room if they need technological support, emergency first aid, or any other information

6. Strict action against malpractice - If candidates are found to be providing false information or participated in multiple/different slots then their candidature will be revoked/cancelled

7. Silence inside the exam hall - All candidates are instructed to maintain silence inside the exam hall while taking the paper

8. All calculations/writing work are to be done only in the rough sheet provided at the centre and on completion of the test candidates must hand over the rough sheets to the invigilator on duty in the Room/Hall.

9. During the examination time, the invigilator will check Admit Card of the candidate to satisfy himself/herself about the identity of each candidate.

10. The candidates are governed by all Rules and Regulations of the Board with regard to their conduct in the Examination Hall. All cases of unfair means will be dealt with as per rules.

11. The candidates must sign on the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place.

Here's a list of instructions that the aspirants need to follow:

• The candidates should reach the test venue at least 40 minutes before the commencement of exam as the personal verifications and other formalities will take time.

• The candidates are not allowed to carry any personal belongings like bags, mobile, camera, electronic gadgets etc. to the test venue. Calculators and logarithmic tables will not be allowed inside the test venue.

• The candidates should click on the 'I have completed the Test' button only when they want to close the test. Once the candidates confirm that they want to generate the score, they will not be allowed to go back to the test.

• The candidates are required to carry the hall tickets along with them to the test venue. The candidates should paste their recent passport size photograph on the hall ticket and get it attested by Head of Institution or Gazetted officer.

• On the computer monitor:
• The candidates are required to type the password to login.
• After the candidates confirm their name and photograph and agree to the terms and conditions of the test, they will be shown the different symbols used.
• Thereafter, the candidates will have to make a selection of the part, they want to answer first.

• After entering the examination hall, candidates are required to find their allotted seat on which their roll number will be printed.

• Since the candidates are not allowed to carry any of their belonging inside the examination hall apart from NEET admit card 2018 and photograph, therefore, if they are found in possession of anything else then the candidature might get cancelled.

• The candidates will not be allowed to leave their seat before the conclusion of the exam.

• The invigilators will be providing NEET 2018 guidelines which should be complied by the candidates.

NTSE Exam Instructions

Candidates are advised to follow these important instructions alongside do’s and don’ts at NTSE Exam Day:

• Candidates should reach the test center 45 minutes before the test commences.
• Candidates, who reach more than 15 minutes after the scheduled test time, may not be allowed to take the test.
• Candidates are required to bring admit card, photo identity and ball pen to the exam center.
• Any type of gadget, watch and calculators are not allowed inside the exam center.

WBJEE Marking Scheme

The marking scheme of the exam specifies marks distribution over a number of questions in the question paper. In WBJEE, there are three categories of questions for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics which are described below:

Category 1

• Only one option is correct
• 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer
• An incorrect answer will yield -¼ (25% negative) marks
• For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -¼ marks.
• Leaving a question unanswered will fetch the 0 (zero) mark.

Category 2 

• Only one option is correct
• 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer
• 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
• Marking more than one answer option in the OMR sheet will be treated as incorrect answer, which means 0.5 marks will be deducted
• Leaving a question unanswered will fetch the 0 (zero) mark.

Category 3 

• One or more options may be correct
• 2 marks will be awarded if all correct choices are selected
• Any combination of correct and wrong response will be treated as incorrect and will yield a 0 (zero) mark.
• For partially correct response, marks awarded will be = 2 X (no. of correct options marked + total no. of correct options)
• Not attempting the question will fetch the 0 (zero) mark.

• Each exam paper will be of 3 hours duration.
• Questions will include situation-based, case-based, open-ended, short-answer, and long-answer type questions.
• Total marks in each subject will be 100. The theory section will be for 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks will be given for practicals and internal assessment.
• The theory papers will consist of the following type of questions with their respective weightage of marks:
  • Very Short Answer Questions – 1 mark each 
  • Short Answer Type Questions I – 2 marks each
  • Short Answer Type Questions II – 3 marks each 
  • Value-based Questions – 4 marks
• Long Answer Type Questions – 5 marks each
• There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
